My Story

Experienced in dealing with the Corp of Engineers, JEM meetings (Joint Evaluation Meetings), obtaining wetland permits, dealing with TCEQ regulations, environmental agencies, developing waterfront ventures, and maritime activities.

Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, TX – Business Administration & Health Sciences – 1993 – 1996

SAC (San Antonio College), San Antonio, TX – Pre-Medical/Health Profession Concentrating in Biochemistry –

Corpus Christi Petro Chemical (now Lyondell on HWY 44 and McKenzie), Corpus Christi, TX – Laborer – 1988 to 1990 Kicked off his career as a laborer with Fluor Daniels. Learned the ropes of scaffold building, industrial painting, and insulation, cleaning inside chemical tanks with supplied air.

 

PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) as both a Bull Rider and Bareback Bronc rider – 1990 to 2005

Traveled across three continents to ride some of the toughest stock out there. From 1990 to 2005, he made appearances on national television, including TNN and Fox Sports Network Southwest. A local highlight was competing in the first annual Buc Days Pro Rodeo in Corpus Christi in 1992, where he took home $278 in day money for his bareback bronc riding and bull riding efforts. He competed at the Buc Days Pro Rodeo from 1992 – 2005. His best finish was 6th place, in 1997, out of 84 contestants in the Bareback Riding.

El Randado Ranch in Taft, Texas – Ranch Foreman & Horse Trainer – 1990 to 1992

Under the guidance of the late Captain Joseph T. Dawson, a true hero and Distinguished Service Cross recipient from World War II, who also served on the Corpus Christi City Council from 1949 to 1951. Vidal’s duties were training horses and upkeep of the ranch.

Bull Blast '93, Memorial Coliseum, Corpus Christi, TX – Founder / Organizer – 1993

Known as THE LARGEST BULL RIDING EVENT IN SOUTH TEXAS, boasting a $5,000 added purse. This exciting event took place at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi on August 28 and 29. He was responsible for all aspects of the event  including permitting, including installing and removing 800 yards of arena dirt in just five days to securing sponsors and attracting fellow bull riding contestants, along with designing the rodeo program, banners, and marketing materials.

World Travel – 1993 & 1997

He had the opportunity to travel to England, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and Morocco in Northern Africa.

Bull Blast '94 South Texas Speedway, Corpus Christi, TX – Founder / Organizer – 1994

The first event ever held at the South Texas Speedway, now known as Saratoga Speedway, Corpus Christi.

 

Bull Blast ’95, South Texas Speedway, Corpus Christi, TX – Founder / Organizer – 1995

The Pepsi Bull Riding Challenge brought together an exciting bull riding competition, complete with Indian Pow Wow dancers and live concerts, all taking place at the same venue, the South Texas Speedway.

 

Bull Blast ’96, Memorial Coliseum, Corpus Christi, TX – Founder / Organizer – 1996

Took the action to the Corpus Christi Memorial Coliseum, showcasing thrilling bull riding alongside the captivating performances of Al Ragusine's Dancing Horses.

 

Memorial Medical Center, Corpus Christi, Texas – Security Officer – 1993 to 1996

His role involved public relations, crisis prevention intervention, and CPR, where he collaborated closely with staff and the Corpus Christi Police Department. He was responsible for conducting property and valuables inventory, maintaining daily monitoring logs, and ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and employees.

 

“Once Upon a Time in China and America” 1997 Film – Stunt Man, Native American & Cowboy – 1996

He had the opportunity to perform stunts and work as a background actor portraying a Native American and cowboy in, a 1997 film starring Jet Li and directed by Sammo Hung, who famously fought alongside Bruce Lee in “Enter the Dragon.”

 

“True Women” CBS Mini-Series – Indian Chief & Horse Rider – 1996

He played the role of an Indian Chief and horse rider in the CBS mini-series which tells the story of Cynthia Ann Parker, the mother of Quannah Parker featuring Angelina Jolie.

 

West Corporation in San Antonio, Texas – SMR (Specializing Marketing Representative) 1997 to 2002

He served as a bilingual liaison in both Spanish and English. He connected Fortune 500 companies with potential clients, trained employees, and generated millions of dollars in acquisitions through product analysis, consumer marketing, and pitching strategies.

 

“All the Pretty Horses” 2000 Film – Cowboy & Barroom Dancer – 1999

He performed as a cowboy and barroom dancer in the film, directed by Billy Bob Thornton and starring Matt Damon and Penelope Cruz.

 

“The Alamo,” 2004 Film, Dripping Springs, TX – Mexican Soldier – 2002 to 2003

He participated in the movie which starred Billy Bob Thornton and was directed by John Lee Hancock. He portrayed a Mexican soldier and was featured in several key scenes, including the rooftop scene with the ‘El Deguello’ song, the David Crockett kill scene, and the battle of San Jacinto. Interestingly, the invasion of the North wall of the Alamo was filmed on the actual anniversary of the historical event.

 

Kiewit Offshore Services in Ingleside, Texas – Brand Scaffolding – Scaffold Builder – 2005

He worked as a scaffold builder for Brand Scaffolding. He was involved in constructing offshore oil rig platforms, specifically the “Independence Hull” and “Atlantis,” which were later transported offshore.

 

Flint Hills – Boilermaker and Crane Flagman, Corpus Christi, TX – 2005

He was involved in the demolition of the Acidic Alki unit. This included climbing up pipe racks to cut pipes, which were then removed by crane and transported to a decontamination yard, completing a three-month turnaround.

 

“Mexican American,” 2007 Film – Edinburg, TX – Federal Agent – 2005

A washed-up Mexican American prize fighter is just starting to get back on his feet when his daughter is kidnapped while investigating a political splinter group in Mexico. Directed by Damian Chapa and starring Roberto Pulido, Marian Zapico, and Rachel Hunter.

 

Chevron Long Wharf Refinery, Richmond, CA – Scaffold Builder – 2006

After an explosion at the refinery in California, a team from Texas, along with Brand Scaffolding, came in to help with demolition and new construction. Member of Carpenters Local Union #153 in Martinez, CA

 

Citgo Bull Fest in Robstown, Texas – Founder & Organizer – 2007

He organized a massive festival that featured a thrilling bull riding event, a carnival, a car show, food booths, and performances from 27 bands, including Jarrod Birmingham and Roberto Pulido.

 

Cricket Wireless Bull Riding Challenge in Kingsville, Texas – November 2008

He organized the two-day event which was packed with bull riding, live music, a carnival, and a team roping competition.

 

CITGO West Plant, Corpus Christi, TX – Brand Scaffolding - Foreman – 2009

As foreman, he oversaw the demolition of two 10,000-ton coker drums at the Citgo West Plant. It was a nine-month project where he led a crew of 70 employees, managing scaffolding, industrial painting, and insulation.

 

CLUB VIVA, Corpus Christi, TX – Partner – 2009 to 2010

The largest nightclub in Corpus Christi, Texas, located on Morgan Street. The venue spanned 18,000 square feet and featured a mix of Tejano, country, and norteña music, along with various events supported by local sponsors. Employed CCPD to provide security detail during large concerts.

 

PMI Leasing, Corpus Christi, TX – Owner – 2010 and 2012

Focused on leasing, construction of, and acquiring jukeboxes, pool tables, arcade games, and slot machines.

 

“All She Can” 2011 – Power Lifting Judge - 2010

An independent film directed by Amy Wendel about Luz Garcia, a Mexican American high school senior in rural Texas who uses powerlifting to try and win a college scholarship to escape her small town. Starring Corina Calderon and Jeremy Ray Valdez.

 

Lucky Pharaoh Casino Bus Tours – Owner – 2012 to 2014

He founded and served as CEO, operating several 58-passenger buses that transported guests from Corpus Christi, Calallen, Alice, and Freer to the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas.

 

Viva Texas Cruises, Inc., Aransas Pass - Owner – 2014 to 2022

He acquired 2.05 acres of prime waterfront property, boasting 345 feet of shoreline right next to the Mansion-by-the-Sea wedding venue in Aransas Pass, Texas. The plan was to launch a casino ship under the registered trademark PRIDE OF TEXAS ®. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Harvey, regulatory changes, and the impact of the pandemic, leading to a temporary hold on the initiative. Contacted municipal, county, and state legislature agencies to obtain permission to operate a Casino Ship.

 

Mirielle ® Condominiums, Aransas Pass – Developer – 2019

A registered trademark owned by Vidal Conde received project and zoning approval from the Aransas Pass City Council. There were over $9 million in ‘Letters of Intent,’ but investors pulled out during the pandemic. Despite this setback, the project is now shovel-ready, though financing is still needed. (All construction documents, business plans, and HOA documents were recorded in 2019.) Worked closely with the Corp of Engineers and environmental agencies to obtain permitting.

 

Obtained a Realtor® license – 2022

Currently inactive.

 

Installation and inspection of residential and commercial septic systems – 2022 to 2026

Construction design, engineered drawings, TCEQ permitting, municipal and county approvals, and maintenance provider contracts.

 

RV Park & Resort – Owner – 2023 to 2026

He is currently developing several acres of raw land into an RV Park.

 

Vidal Conde's background is rooted in hard work, event promotions, and a results-driven mindset. He excels in communicating effectively in both English and Spanish, engaging with corporate sponsors, investors, Fortune 500 companies, dealing with environmental agencies, and the Corp of Engineers in maritime and waterfront projects.
